It was the fastest goal ever scored in an A-match.

Austrian national soccer team midfielder Christoph Baumgartner (Leipzig) scored just six seconds after kickoff in an exhibition match against Slovakia in Bratislava, Slovakia, on Thursday (Aug. 24).

After a short exchange of passes with his teammate at the opening whistle, Baumgartner sprinted through the defense and found the back of the net with a mid-range shot.

It was the fastest goal ever scored in a match between national teams, 스포츠토토 surpassing the previous record of seven seconds set by Germany's Lukas Podolski against Ecuador in May 2013.

Baumgartner made history with his 12th goal in his 35th A-match.

Austria beat Slovakia 2-0 after Baumgartner opened the scoring and Andreas Weimann added a 37th-minute winner. Four straight wins in A matches.

On the same day, Germany's Florian Wirz scored just seven seconds into the game in an exhibition match between France and Germany.

According to ESPN, Wirz's goal ranks second in the category, just a few hundredths of a second ahead of Podolski's goal in 2013.

It was also Wirz's first goal in his A-match debut.

Germany added another goal from Kai Havertz in the fourth minute of the second half to make it 2-0 in favor of France.
